Junior Consultant
My career journey actually started in the hospitality industry when I studied International Hotel Management in Breda. But after having worked for Hilton Hotels in Sydney and in various departments in Amsterdam, I decided to pursue a different path which would allow me to delve deeper into business strategy and innovation-related topics. Hence, I moved to Groningen to do a Master’s in Strategic Innovation Management with a focus on Digital Business. Elective courses in digital transformation strategies and data-driven business processes were included as part of that focus area, and these sparked my interest to pursue a career in the world of digital innovation.
What immediately stood out when I first got in touch with INNOPAY was the openness and the fresh vibe. I could feel the innovative spirit and creativity aimed at finding solutions for the clients. I was looking for an organisation with a flat hierarchy, where there is close contact between employees from different levels and people’s suggestions for initiatives are considered. Furthermore, the size of INNOPAY means that employees have a real say in how it is run. This enables me to work on my personal development by contributing to the internal organisation in addition to consulting projects.
As the world around us is increasingly becoming digitalised and interconnected, digital payment transactions and data sharing will become an ever-more dominant part of the world we live in. Digital transactions can bring benefits for all stakeholders. In the future, consumers will be in charge of their data, firms will be able to explore new opportunities and business models, and industries will become interconnected, resulting in efficiency advantages.
What I really enjoy about my job as a consultant is that I get to take a deep dive into the topic and subject matter to find a valuable solution for each client. This is a continuous process because every project is different. The wide variety of projects that we do keeps my mind sharp and allows me to expand my knowledge about digital transactions to become an expert in the field. The fact that our projects require us to manage multiple stakeholders makes it a challenging but compelling environment. We answer our clients’ questions by working together as a strong team. This gives me energy.
